Candida / Candidiasis – Fungal infection caused by Candida yeasts "Support" Homeopathy according to Dr. Banerji

Dr. Banerji Protocols

Candida / Candidiasis – Fungal Infection by Candida Yeasts

A candidiasis is an infection caused by yeasts of the genus Candida. Most commonly, Candida albicans is involved.

Candida can be present in small amounts on the skin and mucous membranes of many healthy people, for example, in the mouth, gastrointestinal tract, or genital area, without causing symptoms. However, under certain conditions, the fungus can multiply significantly and trigger an infection.

Candida on the skin

Cutaneous candidiasis occurs particularly frequently in warm and moist areas of the body, such as:

  • skin folds

  • groin area

  • armpits

  • under the breast

  • between fingers or toes

  • in the gluteal area

  • diaper area in infants

Typical symptoms can include:

  • red, inflamed skin

  • itching

  • burning

  • weeping skin lesions

  • small pustules

  • painful skin cracks

  • peripheral small so-called satellite pustules

Candida in the mouth – Oral Thrush

Candidiasis of the oral mucosa is often referred to as oral thrush.

Possible symptoms include:

  • whitish coatings on the tongue and oral mucosa

  • reddened mucosa

  • burning or pain

  • unpleasant feeling in the mouth

  • taste changes

  • cracked corners of the mouth

Oral thrush occurs more frequently, among other things, after antibiotic treatments, with inhaled cortisone therapy, or with a weakened immune system.

Candida in the genital area

A vulvovaginal candidiasis can lead to the following symptoms in women:

  • severe itching

  • burning

  • redness and swelling

  • whitish discharge

  • pain during sexual intercourse

  • burning during urination

In men, Candida can cause, among other things, an inflammation of the glans and foreskin (Candida balanitis).

Candida in the gastrointestinal tract

Candida yeasts can be part of the normal microbial colonization of the digestive tract. Therefore, the mere detection of Candida in stool does not automatically mean that a treatable intestinal infection is present.

Non-specific symptoms such as bloating, fatigue, digestive disorders, or cravings cannot be reliably attributed to a so-called "intestinal candidiasis" solely by detecting Candida.

Therefore, other causes should be clarified for persistent gastrointestinal complaints.

What factors promote candidiasis?

Excessive multiplication of Candida can be promoted, among other things, by:

  • antibiotic therapy

  • cortisone treatment

  • weakened immune system

  • diabetes mellitus

  • moist and warm skin environment

  • skin folds and obesity

  • pregnancy

  • certain immunosuppressive therapies

  • chemotherapy

  • severe underlying diseases

Invasive Candidiasis

In critically ill or severely immunocompromised individuals, Candida fungi can enter the bloodstream or internal organs. This is then referred to as invasive candidiasis or candidemia.

This is a serious condition that requires immediate medical treatment with systemic antifungals.

Diagnosis

Depending on the affected body area, the following can be used:

  • clinical examination

  • swab

  • microscopic examination

  • fungal culture

  • for recurrent infections, further diagnostics for predisposing underlying diseases, if necessary

  • in case of suspected invasive candidiasis, special blood and microbiological tests

Treatment

Treatment depends on the location, extent, and cause of the candidiasis.

Depending on the situation, antifungals (antifungal agents) are used, for example, locally as a cream, solution, or gel, or for certain infections as systemic treatment.

In addition, predisposing factors should be treated or reduced as much as possible.

For recurrent candidiasis, it is important to confirm the diagnosis and investigate possible underlying causes.

Homeopathy according to Dr. Banerji

In homeopathy according to Dr. Banerji, specific homeopathic remedies and potencies are used according to the Banerji protocols for various skin, mucous membrane, and digestive complaints, as well as for recurrent fungal problems.

A reliable elimination of a Candida infection through homeopathic remedies is not scientifically proven. Especially in cases of pronounced, recurrent, or invasive Candida infections, necessary antifungal or medical treatment must not be replaced or delayed.

Important Note

Recurrent or unusually pronounced Candida infections should be medically clarified, as, for example, diabetes, a weakened immune system, or certain medications can play a role.

In case of fever, chills, or severe malaise, especially in immunocompromised patients, an invasive infection must be ruled out quickly.
