Nicorette TX patch 10 mg is a smoking cessation aid.
Nicorette TX patch 10 mg is used for the treatment of tobacco dependence by relieving withdrawal symptoms. This supports smoking cessation with Nicorette TX patch 10 mg. Additional counseling and supportive measures can increase the success rate.

Mechanism of action:
The NICORETTE® TX patch offers you a simple aid, to be applied only once daily, to combat nicotine cravings. The patch is applied to the skin in the morning and releases nicotine in controlled doses throughout the day. In the evening, you remove the patch – because who smokes in their sleep! This way, you only consume as much nicotine as your body needs. At the same time, applying the NICORETTE® TX patch during waking hours (about 16 hours) is sufficient to effectively reduce withdrawal symptoms.
With the NICORETTE® TX patch, your body is supplied with a relatively constant nicotine level throughout the day – similar to your previous smoking behavior. Therefore, the NICORETTE® TX patch is best suited for smokers with regular smoking habits.

The NICORETTE® TX patch is available in three strengths (25mg, 15mg, and 10mg). Any regular smoker consuming more than 20 cigarettes per day should start with the TX patch 25mg and use it for a period of 8 weeks. To gradually reduce nicotine, then switch to the weaker TX patches 15mg and 10mg, each for 2 weeks.
If you smoke less than 20 cigarettes per day, start therapy with the TX patch 15mg. Use the patch for a period of 8 weeks and then switch to the TX patch 10mg for another 4 weeks.
So you start with a high dose and gradually wean yourself off. Most smokers manage with a total weaning period of three months.
