The nicorette® 2 mg classic chewing gum is a nicotine replacement therapy product that helps with smoking cessation. Chewing releases nicotine, which is absorbed through the oral mucosa to alleviate cigarette cravings and typical withdrawal symptoms.

This chewing gum is suitable for smokers who smoke up to 20 cigarettes daily. It can be used for immediate quitting as well as for a gradual reduction in cigarette consumption.

Application Instructions

Chewing is not just chewing

For optimal results, the chewing gum should be used according to the chew-and-park method:

1. Chew slowly for about 1 minute until an intense taste develops.

2. Park the chewing gum between your cheek and gum.

3. When the taste fades, chew slowly again.

4. Repeat this process for about 30 minutes.

Dosage

• Chew 1 gum when craving a cigarette.

• Typically, 8 to 12 gums are needed per day.

• A maximum of 24 gums per day is allowed.

The application should generally be for at least 12 weeks, after which the number of gums should be gradually reduced.

Side Effects

Common side effects may include:

Occasionally, the following may occur:

• Abdominal pain

• Digestive problems

• Sleep disturbances

• Palpitations

• Dry mouth

Rarely, the following may occur:

• Allergic reactions

• Skin rashes

• Swelling of the face or throat

Some of the symptoms may also be caused by nicotine withdrawal itself.
