Product Details & Mandatory Information

For decongestion of the nasal mucous membranes in case of a cold and for supportive treatment of healing of skin and mucous membrane damage.

What is the product for?

ratioSoft plus Dexpanthenol Nasal Spray contains the active ingredients xylometazoline hydrochloride and dexpanthenol.

Xylometazoline causes decongestion of the nasal mucous membrane. Dexpanthenol is a derivative of pantothenic acid and supports healing and protection of the mucous membranes.

The nasal spray is used:

• for decongestion of the nasal mucous membrane in case of a cold

• for supportive treatment of healing of skin and mucous membrane damage (lesions)

• in case of paroxysmal runny nose (rhinitis vasomotorica)

• in case of obstructed nasal breathing after surgical interventions on the nose

Suitable for adults and children aged 6 years and older.

If symptoms do not improve or worsen after 7 days, consult a doctor.

Application and Dosage

Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dosage for adults and children aged 6 years and older is 1 spray into each nostril up to a maximum of 3 times daily as needed.

Before use, gently blow your nose. Insert the spray opening into the nostril and inhale calmly through the nose during the spraying process.

Before first use and after a break in use of more than 7 days, press the pump several times until an even spray mist emerges.

For hygienic reasons, a spray bottle should only be used by one person.

Duration of Application

The nasal spray should not be used for longer than 7 days, unless the doctor expressly prescribes a longer period of use.

Re-application should only take place after a break of several days. The doctor should always be consulted regarding the duration of use in children.

Long-term use can lead to chronic swelling and ultimately to damage to the nasal mucous membrane.

Important Information

• Patients with increased intraocular pressure (glaucoma, especially narrow-angle glaucoma) should consult a doctor before use.

• Do not use double the amount if you forget an application.

• In case of suspected overdose or accidental ingestion, a doctor must be contacted immediately.

• In case of overdose, symptoms such as nausea, fever, sweating, changes in pupils, cardiovascular disorders, blood pressure changes, breathing difficulties, cramps, drowsiness or disturbances of consciousness may occur.

Active Ingredients and Ingredients

One spray (0.1 ml solution) contains:

• 0.1 mg xylometazoline hydrochloride

• 5 mg dexpanthenol

1 ml solution contains:

• 1 mg xylometazoline hydrochloride

• 50 mg dexpanthenol

Other ingredients: potassium dihydrogen phosphate, disodium hydrogen phosphate, water for injection.

Side Effects and Tolerability

Like all medicines, ratioSoft plus Dexpanthenol Nasal Spray can have side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Especially with prolonged or too frequent use, irritation, dryness or increased swelling of the nasal mucous membrane may occur.
