RatioSoft® 0.1% Nasal Spray

Product Details & Mandatory Information

ratioSoft 0.1% Nasal Spray contains the active ingredient xylometazoline hydrochloride and is used for blocked noses. The active ingredient causes the nasal mucous membrane to decongest, thereby facilitating nasal breathing.

What is the product for?

ratioSoft 0.1% Nasal Spray is used for decongestion of the nasal mucous membrane in cases of:

• Common cold (rhinitis)

• Sinus infection (sinusitis)

The nasal spray is suitable for adults and children aged 10 years and over.

Dosage and administration

Adults and children aged 10 years and over:

1 spray (0.14 ml) into each nostril, up to a maximum of 3 times daily if needed.

There should be a sufficient time interval between two applications.

The nasal spray should not be used continuously for more than 7 days.

Important notes

• Not suitable for children under 10 years of age.

• ratioSoft 0.05% Nasal Spray is available for children between 2 and 10 years of age.

• The use of xylometazoline-containing medicines is not recommended for children under 2 years of age.

• Do not exceed the recommended dosage and duration of use.

• Long-term use of decongestant nasal sprays can lead to a renewed or increased swelling of the nasal mucous membrane.

Active ingredient and ingredients

1 ml solution contains 1.0 mg xylometazoline hydrochloride.

Side effects and tolerability

Like all medicines, ratioSoft 0.1% Nasal Spray can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

With xylometazoline-containing nasal sprays, burning, dryness, or irritation of the nasal mucous membrane can occur in particular.

If used for too long or too frequently, a renewed or increased swelling of the nasal mucous membrane may occur.
