Decongestant nasal spray with pleasant cooling menthol and cineole

Otrivin® Menthol 0.1% Nasal Spray contains xylometazoline for decongesting the nasal mucous membrane. Menthol and cineole have a pleasant cooling effect and additionally facilitate nasal breathing. The effect begins within a few minutes and can last up to 12 hours.

Areas of Application

For various types of rhinitis in children aged 10 years and older, adolescents, and adults. In cases of paranasal sinus involvement, the nasal spray supports the drainage of secretions.

Recommended Use

Children aged 10 years and older, adolescents, and adults: As needed, 1–2 sprays into each nostril, 1 to a maximum of 3 times daily.

There should be an interval of at least 8 hours between two applications. For children up to 14 years of age, use should be supervised by parents or adults.

Blow your nose thoroughly before use. Inhale gently through the nose while spraying.

Duration of Use

Do not use for longer than 7 days, unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor. After one week of treatment, a break of several days must be taken.

If symptoms do not improve or worsen after 1 week, a doctor should be consulted.

Active Ingredients / Composition

1 ml solution contains:

• 1 mg xylometazoline hydrochloride

1 spray corresponds to 0.07 ml solution.

Other ingredients: benzalkonium chloride, cineole, menthol, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, disodium hydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate, sodium chloride, sodium edetate dihydrate, sorbitol, macrogolglycerol hydroxystearate, and purified water.

Important Notes

Do not use in children under 10 years of age.

Do not use for longer than 7 days without medical advice. Prolonged or excessive use of decongestant nasal sprays can lead to a renewed or chronic swelling of the nasal mucous membrane.

For hygienic reasons, the nasal spray should only be used by one person.

The medicine contains benzalkonium chloride.
