Vaginal suppositories for the treatment of bacterial vaginosis and for the rapid restoration of the natural pH value

Gynolind® Balance Activ vaginal suppositories are used to treat bacterial vaginosis (BV) and support the natural and rapid restoration of the physiological pH value and the vaginal flora.

The vaginal suppositories contain a combination of lactic acid and glycogen. They can be used alone or in conjunction with antibiotic therapy for bacterial vaginosis and help restore the natural balance of the vaginal environment.

One pack contains 7 vaginal suppositories for use over seven consecutive days.

How does Gynolind® Balance Activ work?

Gynolind® Balance Activ contains lactic acid, which helps to rapidly restore the natural acidic pH of the vagina. At the same time, lactic acid can neutralize unpleasant odors and thus alleviate typical symptoms of bacterial vaginosis.

The pH value of Gynolind® Balance Activ is between 3.6 and 4.2 and is thus adapted to the physiological environment of a healthy vagina.

In addition, the vaginal suppositories contain glycogen. Glycogen serves as a nutrient for the naturally occurring lactic acid bacteria or lactobacilli and thus supports their multiplication.

The combination of lactic acid and glycogen thus supports the restoration of the natural acidic vaginal environment and promotes conditions under which the protective lactic acid bacteria can multiply.

This can alleviate symptoms such as increased discharge, unpleasant odor, and discomfort and support the natural balance of the vaginal environment.

Area of application

Gynolind® Balance Activ vaginal suppositories are used to treat bacterial vaginosis and to restore the natural vaginal pH value and the vaginal flora.

They are particularly suitable for typical symptoms such as:

• unpleasant vaginal odor

• increased discharge

• discomfort in the vaginal area

• an impairment of the natural vaginal environment

• an increased vaginal pH value

The vaginal suppositories can also be used in conjunction with antibiotic therapy for bacterial vaginosis.

Dosage and application

For treatment:
Insert one vaginal suppository daily for a period of 7 consecutive days. Insert the suppository deep into the vagina, preferably in the evening before going to bed.

For maintaining the vaginal environment:
If symptoms reappear or if the natural vaginal environment is impaired, one vaginal suppository can also be used daily for 7 days before going to bed.

Wash hands thoroughly before and after use.

Remove the foil packaging from the suppository and carefully insert the vaginal suppository as deep as possible into the vagina. Application in the evening before going to bed makes it easier for the product to remain at the intended site of application for as long as possible.

• Wear breathable cotton underwear if possible.

• Avoid vaginal douches, as these can further impair the natural vaginal environment.

For optimal results, Gynolind® Balance Activ can be combined with products to support the vaginal flora, such as Gynophilus® Classic or Gynophilus® Protect, as per the product information.

Use during pregnancy and menstruation

Gynolind® Balance Activ vaginal suppositories can also be used during menstruation and during pregnancy according to the product information.

However, if a vaginal infection is suspected during pregnancy, medical advice should be sought before or in connection with the application.

In particular, new or unusual discharge, unpleasant odor, pain, burning, or other vaginal discomfort during pregnancy should be medically clarified.

Storage

Do not store above 25 °C.

Side effects and tolerability

During use, especially with cracked or already irritated vaginal mucous membranes, temporary stinging, burning, or itching may occur.

These symptoms are usually temporary. If symptoms are severe or persistent, discontinue use and seek medical advice.

Gynolind® Balance Activ must not be used in case of known hypersensitivity or allergy to any of the ingredients.
