Biolectra® Magnesium Direct is a medicine with 400 mg magnesium per sachet. The granules are placed directly on the tongue and can be taken without water.

What is the product for?

Biolectra® Magnesium Direct is used in adults and adolescents aged 14 and over:

• to prevent magnesium deficiency

• to treat magnesium deficiency

Magnesium deficiency can occur, for example, with reduced magnesium intake or in situations with increased magnesium requirements.

Application

Adults and adolescents aged 14 and over take the contents of one sachet once daily.

Place the granules directly on the tongue and swallow. Water is not required for intake. If necessary, water can be drunk afterwards.

The duration of use depends on the severity and cause of the magnesium deficiency. Long-term high-dose magnesium intake should be medically supervised.

Active Ingredient

1 sachet with 1.9 g granules contains 400 mg magnesium as magnesium hydrogen citrate and heavy magnesium oxide.

Important Information

Biolectra® Magnesium Direct must not be taken, among other things, in cases of:

• severe renal impairment

• certain cardiac conduction disorders with slowed heart rate

• myasthenia gravis

• severe fluid loss (exsiccosis)

• certain chronic urinary tract infections

• certain urinary stone diseases

• allergy to any of the ingredients

In cases of mild or moderate renal impairment, medical or pharmaceutical advice should be sought before taking the product.

An interval of 2-3 hours should be maintained between taking this medicine and other medicines, if possible. This applies in particular to tetracyclines, fluorides, and bisphosphonates.

The medicine can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. If you have any questions about its use, medical or pharmaceutical advice should be sought.

Ingredients

Active ingredient: Magnesium as magnesium hydrogen citrate and heavy magnesium oxide.

Other ingredients: Sorbitol (E 420), Carmellose sodium (E 466), Aspartame (E 951), Acesulfame K (E 950) and lemon flavour.

Side effects and tolerability

Occasionally, soft stools up to diarrhea may occur. In this case, a reduction in dose may be necessary.

With long-term high-dose intake, fatigue may occur. This may indicate an elevated magnesium level and should be medically clarified.
