FRONTLINE® Spot On for dogs L 20-40kg - against ticks and fleas

What is it for?

FRONTLINE® Spot on Dog is used to treat infestations with fleas, ticks, and biting lice.

It is effective against:

• Fleas (Ctenocephalides spp.)
• Ticks (Ixodes ricinus, Dermacentor variabilis, Rhipicephalus sanguineus)
• Biting lice (Trichodectes canis)

FRONTLINE® can also be used for the treatment and control of flea allergy dermatitis (FAD).

Properties and effect

FRONTLINE® Spot on contains fipronil. After application, the active ingredient spreads over the superficial, lipid-rich layer of the skin within about 1 to 2 days and is stored in the sebaceous glands. From there, it is continuously distributed over the skin and coat.

Application

FRONTLINE® Spot on is applied directly to the skin using a pipette:

1. Remove the pipette from the packaging and hold it upright.
2. Tap the tip briefly so that the liquid collects in the lower part.
3. Break off the pipette tip at the marked line.
4. Part the coat between the shoulder blades until the skin is visible.
5. Place the pipette tip directly onto the skin and empty the entire contents completely by squeezing several times.

The active ingredient then spreads over the body surface within approximately 1 to 2 days.

How often should it be used?

For continuous protection, FRONTLINE® should be applied regularly in accordance with the package insert.

The insecticidal effect against adult fleas lasts for up to 8 weeks in dogs, while the acaricidal effect against ticks lasts for up to 4 weeks.

Instructions for use and environment

Intensive bathing should be avoided within 48 hours before or after treatment, as this may impair the distribution of the active ingredient. After the distribution period, FRONTLINE® products are waterproof.

The pipette size appropriate for the body weight must be used for dogs. Under-dosing may compromise the success of the treatment.

In the event of a flea infestation, all appropriate dogs and cats in the household should be treated accordingly. Additionally, the environment should be cleaned thoroughly. Regular vacuuming and washing of suitable textiles, pet bedding, and toys at at least 60 °C can support flea control.

Important information

Do not use on rabbits or other small animals.

FRONTLINE® Spot on Dog is available in different dosages depending on body weight:

• S: Dogs from 2 to 10 kg
• M: Dogs over 10 to 20 kg
• L: Dogs over 20 to 40 kg

This variant with 268 mg fipronil corresponds to FRONTLINE® Spot on Dog L and is intended for dogs over 20 to 40 kg.
