Medicine with biotin for the prevention and treatment of biotin deficiency states

Curatin 5 mg is a vitamin preparation with the active ingredient biotin (vitamin B7 or vitamin H). Biotin is a water-soluble vitamin from the B-vitamin group and plays an important role in carbohydrate, fat, and protein metabolism.

Biotin is partly produced by the intestinal flora and additionally absorbed through food. A deficiency can particularly affect skin, hair, and nails.

Indications

Curatin 5 mg is used for:

• Prevention and treatment of biotin deficiency states

• Treatment of biotin deficiency in cases of reduced biotin supply or increased biotin requirement

• Treatment of the very rare biotin-dependent multiple carboxylase deficiency

Possible signs of biotin deficiency

Biotin deficiency can manifest itself through, among other things:

• Hair loss

• Scaly or reddened skin

• Nail growth disorders
