Ubiquinol and ubiquinone (coenzyme Q10) are closely related. They differ only minimally in their structure and can be converted into each other by the body. In the mitochondria, the powerhouses of the cell, they form a powerful team. Due to its structure, ubiquinol itself can regenerate the antioxidant vitamins C and E. These are then ready again to scavenge highly reactive particles. The conversion of ubiquinone to ubiquinol is enzyme-dependent. With increasing age, enzyme activity can decrease - and with it the body's own production of ubiquinol. Pure Encapsulations® Ubiquinol-QH is obtained through a bio-fermentation process.
