ratiopharm® Candibene 1% Cream for Fungal Infections
Candibene 1% Cream from ratiopharm contains the active ingredient clotrimazole and is used for the treatment of fungal infections. The cream is suitable for external use in mycoses of the skin, mucous membranes and nails, e.g. caused by dermatophytes or yeasts such as Candida albicans. Clotrimazole has a growth-inhibiting and fungicidal effect on a variety of fungal pathogens.
Application:
Unless otherwise prescribed, Candibene 1% Cream should be applied thinly to the affected skin areas 2–3 times daily. The skin should be thoroughly cleaned and dried beforehand. For intimate areas (Candida vulvitis, balanitis), also 1–3 times daily. For nail fungus, the nails should be trimmed and roughened. The duration of treatment for skin fungi is usually 2–6 weeks, and for nail fungus usually longer than 3 months. Application should be continued for at least 2 weeks after the symptoms have subsided.
