Product Description

A.Vogel Echinaforce Drops are a herbal medicinal product used to strengthen the immune system's defenses (immune stimulation).

The drops are used for supportive treatment and prevention of recurring infections such as common colds.

What is the product for?

Echinaforce drops are used to strengthen the immune system's defenses, as well as for the supportive treatment and prevention of recurring infections.

These include in particular common colds with symptoms such as:

• cough

• catarrh

• watery eyes

• runny nose

• sore throat

• headaches

• muscle pain

If you do not feel better or even worse after 14 days, contact your doctor.

Application and Dosage

Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over:

For prevention: 20 drops 3 times daily.

For colds and febrile colds: 20–25 drops 3 to 5 times daily.

Children aged 4 and over:

10 drops 3 to 5 times daily as directed by a doctor.

Normally, uninterrupted use should not exceed 2 months.

Contraindications

Echinaforce drops must not be taken:

• if you are allergic to purple coneflower, other composite plants, or any of the other ingredients of this medicinal product

• in case of alcoholism

• by children under 4 years of age

No interactions are known.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

As there is insufficient data, use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not recommended.

Ingredients / Composition

The active ingredients are extracts from purple coneflower.

1 g contains:

0.95 g tincture from purple coneflower (extract ratio 1:12) and 0.05 g tincture from purple coneflower root (extract ratio 1:11).

Extractant: Ethanol 57.3% W/W (65% vol.).

1 ml (= 905 mg) corresponds to 28 drops and contains the active ingredients of 240–440 mg fresh purple coneflower herb and 12–23 mg fresh purple coneflower root.

Other ingredients: Ethanol and water as extractants.

Side effects / Tolerability

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Very rarely, i.e., in less than 1 in 10,000 treated individuals, hypersensitivity reactions have been reported.

Possible symptoms include:

• rash

• itching

• edema

• shortness of breath

• drop in blood pressure

Important notes

• Echinaforce drops contain alcohol.

• Do not use in case of alcoholism.

• Do not use in children under 4 years of age.

• For children aged 4 and over, use is according to medical instructions.

• If you are allergic to purple coneflower, other composite plants, or any of the other ingredients, the medicinal product must not be taken.

• During pregnancy and breastfeeding, use is not recommended due to insufficient data.

• Uninterrupted use should normally not exceed 2 months.

• If symptoms do not improve after 14 days or worsen, consult your doctor.
