What are GeloMyrtol ® 300 mg capsules and what are they used for?

Mode of action:
GeloMyrtol® 300 mg capsules liquefy mucus in the respiratory tract, promote the transport of secretions, facilitate coughing up, and have an anti-inflammatory effect.

Areas of application:
For mucus dissolution in acute and chronic catarrh of the respiratory tract (bronchitis) and in inflammation of the paranasal sinuses (sinusitis).

How should GeloMyrtol ® 300 mg capsules be taken?
Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose for adults and adolescents over 12 years of age with acute inflammatory conditions is 1 capsule 3 to 4 times a day. For chronic conditions, take 1 capsule twice a day. This dosage is also recommended for long-term treatment.

To facilitate morning coughing in chronic bronchitis, take an additional 1 GeloMyrtol® 300 mg capsule in the evening before going to bed. Children aged 7-11 years with acute conditions should take 1 capsule 2 to 3 times a day, and with chronic conditions, 1 to 2 times a day.

GeloMyrtol® 300 mg capsules should be taken half an hour before meals with plenty of liquid. The capsules should not be taken with hot drinks or after meals.
To facilitate a good night's sleep, the last dose can be taken before going to bed.

The duration of treatment with GeloMyrtol® 300 mg capsules depends on the symptoms. In chronic respiratory diseases, long-term treatment is possible. If your symptoms do not improve within 10 days, please consult a doctor.

If you have taken a larger amount of GeloMyrtol® 300 mg capsules than you should, poisoning can lead to nausea, vomiting and cramps, and in severe cases to coma and respiratory problems. In individual cases, circulatory complications may occur after severe intoxication.

The doctor may take the following countermeasures:
Administration of paraffinum liquidum 3 ml per kg body weight, gastric lavage with 5% sodium bicarbonate solution, oxygen ventilation.

If you have forgotten to take GeloMyrtol® 300 mg capsules:
Do not take a double dose, but continue with the normal intake.

What GeloMyrtol® 300 mg capsules contain:
1 enteric-coated capsule contains 300 mg myrtol (distillate from a mixture of rectified eucalyptus oil, rectified sweet orange oil, rectified myrtle oil, and rectified lemon oil in a ratio of 66:32:1:1) as the active ingredient.

The other ingredients are:
Refined rapeseed oil, gelatin, glycerol 85%, dry substance from sorbitol solution 70% (non-crystallizing), hypromellose acetate succinate, triethyl citrate, sodium dodecyl sulfate, talc, dextrin, glycyrrhizic acid (ammonium salt).
