What is Cetirizine-Actavis 10 mg and what is it used for?Cetirizine dihydrochloride is the active ingredient of Cetirizine-Actavis 10 mg.
Cetirizine-Actavis 10 mg is an antiallergic.

In adults and children from 6 years of age, Cetirizine-Actavis 10 mg is indicated for:

• Relief of nasal and ocular symptoms in seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis.
  
• Relief of chronic urticaria (chronic idiopathic urticaria).

How to take Cetirizine-Actavis 10 mg?
How and when should you take Cetirizine-Actavis 10 mg?
These instructions apply unless your doctor has given you other instructions on how to take Cetirizine-Actavis 10 mg.

Please follow these instructions, as Cetirizine-Actavis 10 mg may otherwise not work correctly.

The tablets should be taken whole with a glass of liquid.

Adults and adolescents over 12 years
10 mg once daily as 1 tablet

Children aged 6 to 12 years
5 mg twice daily as half a tablet

Patients with moderate to severe renal impairment
Patients with moderate renal impairment are recommended to take 5 mg once daily.

If you have the impression that the effect of Cetirizine-Actavis 10 mg is too weak or too strong, please contact your doctor.

Duration of use
The duration of use depends on the type, duration and course of your symptoms and will be determined by your doctor.

If you have taken a larger quantity of Cetirizine-Actavis 10 mg than you should
If you think you have taken an overdose of Cetirizine-Actavis 10 mg, please inform your doctor.

Your doctor will then decide what measures, if any, should be taken.

After an overdose, the side effects described below may occur with increased intensity. Adverse effects such as confusion, diarrhoea, dizziness, fatigue, headache, malaise, pupillary dilation, itching, restlessness, sedation, drowsiness, stupor, accelerated heartbeat, tremors and urinary retention have been reported.

If you forget to take Cetirizine-Actavis 10 mg
Do not take a double dose if you have forgotten the previous dose.

If you stop taking Cetirizine-Actavis 10 mg
If you have any further questions about the use of the medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

What Cetirizine-Actavis 10 mg contains
The active ingredient of Cetirizine-Actavis 10 mg is cetirizine dihydrochloride.
1 film-coated tablet contains 10 mg cetirizine dihydrochloride.

The other ingredients are:
Tablet core: Lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate (Ph.Eur.), highly dispersed silicon dioxide;
Film coating: Hypromellose, titanium dioxide (E 171), Macrogol 400.
