Canesten® Bifonazole comp. – Ointment + Nail Set for the Treatment of Nail Fungus

Effectively treat nail fungus with the Canesten® Bifonazol comp. - Ointment + Nail Set
The Canesten® Bifonazol comp. - Ointment + Nail Set treats nail fungus on hands and feet. The effective 2-phase short-term therapy consisting of the Canesten® Bifonazol Nail Set and the Canesten® Bifonazol Cream thoroughly, quickly and long-term combats nail fungal infections (onychomycosis).

With the Canesten® Bifonazol Nail Set, the infected nail substance is softened and removed in the first phase by applying an ointment with urea. The healthy part of the nail remains. The active ingredient bifonazole combats all relevant pathogens of the fungal infection and prevents their spread. In the second phase, the Canesten® Bifonazol Cream is applied directly to the exposed nail bed. This allows deep-seated pathogens to be combated, which are one of the main causes of recurrence of nail fungus. Afterwards, the nail can grow back healthily.

The Canesten® Bifonazol 2+4 Week Short Therapy
A discolored nail with white, yellow or brownish spots can be a sign that a fungal pathogen has settled on the hands or feet. Most of the time, the fungi are located at the front or side of the nail edge and spread further and further if left untreated. The result: a brittle nail that loses its shape and structure over time and eventually detaches from the nail bed.
The insidious thing about this is that the fungus also settles in deeper layers, for example in the nail bed. Active ingredients can only reach these areas with difficulty through external application. The deep-seated pathogens in the nail bed therefore promote recurrent infections with nail fungus. Therefore, it is important to combat nail fungus thoroughly and effectively. This is achieved with the Canesten® Bifonazol 2+4 Week Short Therapy:

• Phase 1: For the first phase, you need the Canesten® Bifonazol comp. - Ointment + Nail Set. The urea contained in the ointment softens the infected nail part, which can then be gradually removed. The healthy part of the nail remains. Bifonazole specifically combats the fungal pathogens and inhibits their multiplication and the infection of other people.
• Phase 2: In the second phase, you use the Canesten® Bifonazol Cream. By exposing the nail bed, it can be applied directly to the nail bed and combat the deep-seated pathogens there. Afterwards, the nail can grow back healthily. Thanks to the broad-spectrum effect, mixed infections, i.e. when different fungal pathogens have settled, can also be effectively treated.

• Once a day, a thin layer of ointment is applied to the affected fingernail or toenail. It has a firm consistency and can be applied precisely.
• Then stick one of the enclosed protective plasters like a protective cap onto the diseased nail. Depending on the size of the nail, the plaster can be halved.
• After 24 hours, you can remove the plaster and bathe your fingers or toes in warm water for about ten minutes.
• Now remove the softened diseased nail substance as much as possible with the spatula.
• Then dry the affected areas thoroughly, apply ointment again and apply an enclosed hygiene plaster.

Important: Do not discontinue the therapy prematurely. Even if the diseased nail has been removed and the symptoms are over, fungal pathogens often still remain in the nail bed under the fingernail or toenail. To avoid a new nail fungus infection, the follow-up treatment with Canesten® Bifonazol Cream is absolutely necessary. During this second phase of therapy, you should treat your nail with the cream once a day for a period of four weeks.

How does Canesten® Bifonazol comp. - Ointment + Nail Set work?
The Canesten® Bifonazol Nail Set contains the active ingredient bifonazole. This has an antifungal effect, meaning it combats the fungal pathogen and consequently the symptoms. It also contains urea, which softens the diseased nail area, making it easier to remove. Healthy nail parts are not attacked. Thanks to the Canesten® Bifonazol 2+4 Week Short Therapy, nail fungus can therefore be combated quickly and effectively in six weeks.

Important Notes
If after 7 – 14 days not all diseased nail parts have been removed and the nail bed is not smooth, a doctor should be consulted. This also applies if:

• more than two thirds of the nail surface or more than three nails are affected
• you are not sure whether it is nail fungus
• your toddler or infant is affected
