The cream should be applied as soon as possible when symptoms appear, when the lips start to \"tingle\" and\/or when swelling\/blisters begin to form. \u003cbr\u003e\n  \u003cbr\u003e\n  It should not be used if crusts have formed. If you do not feel better or feel worse after 4 days, consult your doctor.\u003cbr\u003e\n  \u003cbr\u003e\n  Fenivir inhibits the ability of the herpes simplex virus to multiply.
